This hands-on training program provides a comprehensive understanding of API Management principles and practices, with specialized focus on Google Cloud's Apigee platform—one of the industry's leading API management solutions. As organizations increasingly adopt microservices architectures and digital transformation strategies, the ability to design, secure, deploy, and manage APIs has become a critical skill in the enterprise technology landscape. This course equips participants with the knowledge and practical experience needed to build robust API ecosystems that drive business value and enable seamless integration across systems. The training addresses API fundamentals including REST architecture, HTTP methods, status codes, and payload formats such as JSON and XML. Participants will explore API design best practices covering versioning strategies, pagination, error handling, and documentation standards using OpenAPI/Swagger specifications. The Apigee-specific modules cover platform architecture and components, API proxy creation and configuration, flow variables and conditional logic, traffic management policies including spike arrest and quota enforcement, and security implementation through OAuth 2.0, API keys, JWT validation, and threat protection. Advanced topics include shared flows and flow hooks, target server configuration and load balancing, caching strategies for performance optimization, custom JavaScript and Python scripting. Upon completion, participants will be able to design and implement RESTful APIs following industry standards, deploy and manage API proxies on the Apigee platform, implement comprehensive security policies to protect APIs from threats and unauthorized access, configure traffic management to ensure API reliability and performance, utilize Apigee analytics to monitor API health and drive data-informed decisions, and set up developer portals to foster API adoption and community engagement.
